Little Earthquake
presents a ghoulish treat for Halloween 2007
The Premature Burial
A new play by Philip Holyman
Featuring Spooky Music by Erica Reed and Curious Contraptions by Nick
Nicholls
Watch through the
cracks in your fingers as Little Earthquake presents a perversely pleasurable
story of romance gone wrong. Two lonely-hearts are brought closer by
mysterious packages and an unforgettable picnic, while Troy the melancholy
hamster unwittingly goes for a final spin on his wheel.
All alone in the
middle of a big city, in a room piled high with dog-eared books and
dead Venus flytraps, a man spends his days building death-defying contraptions.
Obsessed by Edgar Allan Poe's stories of premature burial, he lives
in mounting terror of being buried alive. When his waking hours become
a living nightmare, he resorts to increasingly desperate measures in
his battle against a fate worse than death.
Cremation never
sounded so good…
The
initial development of The Premature Burial was funded by the
National Lottery through Arts Council England.
